We arrived back yesterday after spending a week in Destin which is on the Gulf Coast in Florida. It was a little cold the first few days but by Friday it had reached 23c, that’s 72f in old money.
It was a nice area with a lovely clean beach. I can’t imagine being there in the summer time what with the heat and all the people, I think late September would be a fine time to go If I had a choice.
So we arrived back yesterday after a 6hr drive, which is nothing in for Americans but quite a lot for someone who was raised thinking that a 4hr round trip to Inverness was a grand day out.
