Day Out in Northport

I spent the day yesterday in Tuscaloosa with friends. The main purpose was to deliver James to the AMTRAK station there so that he could catch the train to Atlanta, but there’s always time for shopping especially when there is a Super Target to peruse.

Before we headed to the train we spent an hour or so in Historic Northport which has a beautifully restored little main street with some antique shops and a wonderful restaurant called The Globe. We were treated to a wonderful chicken Korma (who said you can’t get good curry in the USA?!) washed down with the nicest ginger ale I’ve ever tasted. It reminded me of our trip in July to the Globe Theatre to see The Merry Wives of Windsor, sadly the only show I’ve seen at the Globe.
